On the JAVA problem, did you update the xfs configuration according to
what is said in the RedHat knowledge base (I explain exactly what to do in
a previous message to this list) ?

now JAVA works fine for me with a M6.0, and Navigator (I've
not installed Communicator) version 4.6. Before modifying xfs
configuration (or XFree's one if you don't use xfs) it crashed every time
I opened an HTML page with a JAVA applet.

I definitely think you should modify the xfs package and put it in
/updates in order for Netscape's Java to work correctly.
