I'm running Mandrake 6.0 on an Inspiron 7000 and I need to be able to preset the VGA mode in lilo.conf in order to bring up X on my system. When I add the vga= line to my lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo I get a "VGA Mode presetting is not supported by your kernel" message. I'm assuming there has to be some way to enable VGA mode presetting. BTW, this problem seems specific to Mandrake, since I did a clean install of Redhat 5.2 and it allowed me to preset VGA mode. Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks... sanford
