Hi,

I'm using Linux Mandrake v6.0/RedHat v6.0

I have ppp compiled into the kernel.

I'm trying to connect to my ISP. I get gonnected allright (KPPP), but

I cannot start any applications while connected.

If I have an console window opened prior to the connection and later
try to start an application in that window, I get an error message
saying something like "Client not authorized, could not connect to
blablabla (my current dynamic IP address/host name)".

I guess there's some new (security) scheme in the XFree86
implementation where KDE PPP does not know about, or cares about.

This happens if I use Linux Mandrake v6.0 or pure RedHat v6.0

Do anyone have a clue ?

I don't have the time to learn every small feature and details about
everything in Linux..., especially X, But I badly need to get it to
work.
