I'm setting up an isp with linux servers. He has most of the hardware
already servers, modems, everything accept for a router. Since he already
has the modems and rack mount box to put them in with an eithernet card
built in i wanteed to know the posibilities of using a linux box as his
router.
I've already read most of the information at the Linux Router Project,
LRP, website and although this looks like a good project it uses the older
kernel and i also want to add a few more features to my router box.
My plan is to use a sangoma wanpipe for the T1 connections and then set
the router up with, dns w/caching, squid, junkbuster, ssh, firewall, ip
masquerade. I figured the easiest way would be to create a costom setting
in the comps file for just this purpose. Is there anything that I should
do, know, or maybe suggestions before I attempt this? Also i will probably
set up an xserver with kde so that a graphical interface can be used along
with software specific to firewals and admin. I will base this all off of
mandrake 6.0 or 6.1 when it is available. Any work done on this will
eventualy be available for download from my website but this may not be for
some time as it is just in development now.

One last thing what security conserns should i have that maybe i'm not
thinking of and is there any other rpm's that should be added?or definatly
not used?
