I have been trying to install linux mandrake on my companies 4 way PPro system
for about a week with a host of problems and no luck. The configuration is
an AMI Galith MB, 256MB ram two 4Gb SCSI HD, two 8GB IDE HD, Diamond Stealth
2000 vid card. I am doing a NFS install because the machine does not have a
cdrom. I am having trouble booting of the hard drives, SCSI or ide. and when
I boot from floppy I get to the part right after hd optimization and It
complains about not being able to load some module I have never heard of before.
Something to the effect of modprobe can't load: binfmt-12756. It keeps looping
trying to load this module till it locks the machine up. I know that the module
does not exist in fact there is no such thing. I am beginning to believe that
there is something possible wrong with the on-board IDE controller it is almost
like it is reading things off the drive wrong. Or it could be that HD utility
that it ran before everything went sour.

Any help will be appreciated
