Sorry to reply to my own message, but I've fixed the problem, as I found
my /etc/resolv.conf was empty. adding a search <domain> and nameservers
fixed this. I wonder why Netscape changed so that DNS lookups hang in
4.61? I've been using a blank resolv.conf since March, since kppp fills
it in while online.
Another question ;-)
How do I change the defaults of rpm and kpackage so that they install
documentation? At the moment I have to use rpm -ivh --includedocs <pkg>
