I've read the man page on rpm, and I don't see anywhere where the
defaults are stored (probably compiled in). Both the command-line rpm
and kpackage do the same thing, but unfortunately I can't tell you more.
Can you specify what else I might be able to tell you? I'm running
Mandrake 6.0, BTW. I suspect this machine may need a fresh install of
linux (heresy ;-) ), as wine can cause X to stop displaying *any* more
programs until the x-server restarts, including wine.
