[expert] kppp can't find a few things

I get two error messages for kppp:


pppd[8900]:The remote system (ppp0) is required to authenticate itself but I
couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so.

(I have examined /etc/ppp/chap-secrets and it has the correct info in it.)

and:

modprobe: can't locate module char-major-108

Huh?

How do I fix these?
