Hi Don
Here I tested the 6.1 in many laptops of Logger International Inc (a
brazilian company) in part of a process to include Linux in their notebooks
In many cases I have same problem with these machines, but all resolved
with one or more of these procedures:
1) Disable all pcmcia support in install process (you can enable PCMCIA at
the boot ok)
2) Write the LILO at MBR
3) Disable all power managment system of your BIOS
The Compaq use a feature of suspend partition that I disable of Logger
notebooks because sometimes this partition don't allow that teh system boot
100%.
Bye and sorry for the my english. Is very poor :)
