As far as I'm aware, Linux in general doesn't support re-writeable media.
Support is under development. However, I have a Mitsumi 4802 TE and it works
flawlessly for making Any kind of CD.. X CDRoast has no problems with it at all.
I did have to follow instructions for setting up ide-scsi support to get the
drive to be recognized as a burner though.. There are some excellent
instructions for this at the mandrakeuser.org site.
