Oh yeah, you'll get things like

hdc: IRQ probe failed (0)
hdd: IRQ probe failed (0)
hdd: IRQ probe failed (0)
hdg: probing with STATUS(0x00) instead of ALTSTATUS(0xff)
hdg: probing with STATUS(0xa1) instead of ALTSTATUS(0xff)
hdg: no response (status = 0xa1), resetting drive
