Are you using a crossover ethernet cable or a standard one?? If you are
just connecting the two PC's together you need a crossover cable, which has
the configuration of 1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8 ---- 3|6|1|4|5|2|7|8 instead of same
wires going to the same spot at each end
