I've not often said it about college faculty and staff, but the guy's
got his head screwed on straight.

Whether NT crashes or not, you're stuck with it if that's the only
platform your vendor supports.  And if your current vendor is the only
one with a acceptable product on the market, well, there's even less you
can do.

The question for the guy would be why they rolled out updates to 600
machines without testing them prior to implementation.  I'd be fired for
the downtime it would cause for my employer.
