Have you set the proper environment variables for Java? (I believe it is
CLASS_PATH .. or JAVA_HOME?)...
I woudl start looking there.... also make sure that you have your required JDK
installed.. (If needed..??)
I have not installed Oracle8i, but I did install oracle 8 on linux, and I had to
do a couple of things above and beyond the readme to get it to work.
Try scanning Deja.com for anyone that has had problems..
The Oracle newsgroups are very good, and you can probably get a VERY quick
answer from there.
