Don't know if this will work for you, but it did for me, on a Tulip Motion Line
laptop:

I downloaded the boot images from the UK Sunsite server at:

        http://sunsite.org.uk/packages/Mandrake/6.1b/images,

Boot up from the bootnet.img diskette. This should prompt you for the
pcmcia.img diskette, from where I was able to do an NFS installation with no
further problems.

Sunsite has a 6.1 and a 6.1b directory, with the 6.1 being the most recent. I
can only presume that the 6.1b is an early beta release of the real 6.1 distro.
