Something's mighty wrong with those readings Axalon... Here's my 18G WD:
[root@tippy /root]# hdparm -tT /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 1.73 seconds =73.99 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 3.81 seconds =16.80 MB/sec
That's with:
/dev/hda:
multcount = 8 (on)
I/O support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
nowerr = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 128 (on)
geometry = 2193/255/63, sectors = 35239680, start = 0
Like I said, I'm mighty happy with these readings... just how much
faster do I need Netscape to launch?? :)
