Unfortunately, since I don't have a patched kernel, I can't enable DMA
access for my drives, as I am using an Ali M15x3 chipset. I get these
results without tweaking (a bit off since I have about 20 netscape
windows open)

/dev/hda:
 Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 2.27 seconds =56.39 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 10.37 seconds = 6.17 MB/sec

I really want to be able to enable UDMA, because in Mandrake 6.0, with
only enabling UDMA, I was getting about 13-14 MB/sec, which sped it up a
bit.
Is there a patched kernel available to download for 6.1, or do I have to
get the sources and the patch (or kernel 2.3.x)?
