Dear Axalon and friends:

I now understand your point about cp -a. I should have copies the so51a
binary from my /bs storage partition to /home by typing cp -a (for
archive). Right? 

OK, I am now going to download a new copy of StarOffice and untar it as
user, then install it as user. I'll see what happens. Maybe this will
solve the whole problem. Will report shortly. I have ADSL so it won't
take long to download it.
