One thing is for sure, this one is _not_ a Winmodem, it should work out of the box (I know for a fact that it does for at least two of my friends). Check the following: 1. (sounds silly, but ...) did you power it on ? 2. is the serial port where it's plugged-in activated in the BIOS ?
