Pardon my exhuberance but, WHEEEEE!!

Thanks to all who worked so diligently to make this a reality. The
browser works; mail client works; and modem works.

The modem issue was a couple of different things. First the modem string
needed to be changed from ATX to AT&F1. The COM had to be changed from
/dev/ttyS0 to /dev/ttyS1 and lastly the DNS information had to be added
to the /etc/resov.config file.

I am only guessing that because it is external, and because I was not
online when Linux probed during set up, no files or directories were
installed.

I expected to hear the modem dial; I didn't but I had the log screen
open. I expected to see something like the Winders computer icon on the
task bar and didn't, but I poked around and found the disconnect and the
date/time.

One of these days I'll be able to add to the discussions. In the
meantime I'll just keep watching and learning. Considering the
differences between the two systems, and the degree of difficulty, I'll
still take the tux. This group makes the difference between total
failure and success, and makes the learning all worth while!

Again, thanks!
