I have successfully, for the most part, installed StarOffice v5.1 in Mandrake/Helios on my K6-2/300. The less than most part involves the java runtime environment. I have installed jre-1_1_5_1.i386.rpm but the StarOffice installer tells me that it can't find the java runtime environment.
