Well my hybrid LInux-Mandrake 6.1
and 7.0Beta upgrade finally met a wall.
Latest kernel.rpms 2.2.14-14 I did
an -Uvh instead of my usual -ivh and
though lilo.conf has the newest, now some
kind of security glitch will not let me
shutdown -r now to get to it. A cold boot
gives an old totally confused kernel.
All of my old System.maps disappeared
with the -Uvh.
Adding a new user with full shutdown authority,
changes nothing. Even going with the custom.sh
in /etc/security/msec can't shake it loose.
What in the heck did I do and
how to reboot cleanly.
ctrl-alt-del gives same
"no authorized users logged in"
And I was about to brag how nicely
everything was going.
By the way did anyone else loose "expert"
for several days? I did since Friday
and now they start showing up again Tues.pm !!??
Help !
