Okay for some reason this got things working
at a root prompt in the fouled up booted kernel.
#telinit 6
Logs me out and rebooted old kernel with errors
So edited /etc/lilo.conf again with only the
latest compiled kernel active and did the 'lilo'
'shutdown - r now' still didn't work so 'telinit 6' again.
Rebooted and this time everything came up "green ok"
(kernel 2.2.14-14mdk)
Yes I like this distribution. Now where was I?
Can anyone tell me what conf/security files got changed
to cause even 'root' to loose priveleges?
