I am back working on my on again, off again linux project at work.
I need to ftp some files thru our firewall, but so far have been unsucessful. I cannot
connect to any site. I'm on the network, and can surf via Netscape using proxy
settings.
I have ftp in netscape set up and cannot ftp, I get a site closed due to security
reasons.
I'm not after netscape ftp, more so along the lines of ncftp using a cron job to do
automated ftp.
Using ncftp, I can do --> open sitename.com and it resolves the ip address, but cannot
connect.
So it's getting the ip from somewhere, I haven't told it.
I have also tried gftp and it locks up the app.
Any clues? My IT knows nothing about Linux, and I don't honestly know a whole heck of
a
lot about networking.. But I really *think* the linux box is OK, but It's easily
possible
I missed something in the setup of domains, and routing.. Any help is SURELY
appreciated!!
Thanks
Alan
