Hi all,

I recently installed Mandrake Linux 6.1 and KDE.....I know I can go into =
LinuxConfig and change the boot mode to automatically launch the KDE gui =
or to just call upa default shell (bash in my case). Anyway, what part =
of my boot process launches this gui? =20

In Solaris 1.0 (my old background) there was a .cshrc file that did =
everything like this. However the .cshrc .bashrc etc files dont refer =
to this ion any fashion.

Also, is there an easy way to have the startx command call gnome instead =
of KDE ???

First of all, TURN OFF HTML!!! I had to cut/paste your message,
because you chose to post in html and my mail client is NOT
html-compliant (and I *like* it that way!) HTML is a waste of
bandwidth and it looks like crap on a non-html-ized email client
(many, if not most of the people likely to be able to help will
bypass your message because it's too much trouble to work with your
HTML email!)
Second, as root, go edit your /etc/inittab and change the line that
says id:5:initdefault:
to
id:3:initdefault:
for a non-gui boot.
