Precisely! No matter what I did, whether installing the RPM or the tar
ball, I kept getting that nasty "Where is the directory for your "C
headers". Drove me crazy for hours.
At any rate, I did finally succeed in installing the old 1.0.x VMware
and installing Win3.1. Unfortunately, I had too many problems and too
many restrictions and too few applications that I wanted (mainly
streaming multimedia, i.e. Quicktime and WMP) so I decided to give up
the whole thing for the foreseeable future. If I do decide to go ahead
with it at some point in the future (hopefully, everything will be
available by then for Linux so I won't have to), I'll at least know how
to do it.
