Hi...
Just installed MDK7.0 today.. it went about fine, tho' I noticed something
that got on my nerves, backspace and/or doesn't seem to work in nxterm
properly. Might be other things too, but this is what noticed.
[root@betty /root]# rm foo
rm: remove `foo'?
I can't delete if I make a typo when typing yes or no on that question... it
always end up something like ^H or ^[7~m when I press backspace or delete
... it didn't happen before. I guess I can change the term variable to
something but that shouldn't be necsseary. Any ideas?
I also noticed that licq instantly set me in N/A mode after going online...
and I can't get the N/A mode go away.
MIGHT be due to config files from my own compiled licq I used before, but it
was the same version and all so I doubt it. (my own compiled version died on
my cause it was missing some lib after the upgrade, so I had to replace it)
Any ideas on this one... or should I just do rm -rf ~/.licq?
Another thing, which may not be an issue with mandrake, but I tried to
compile the mx300 (Vortex2) drivers from Aureal with the mandrake
2.2.14-15mdksmp kernel installed, I didn't succeed, I ended up with missing
symbols. ;(
It worked fine with the 2.2.13 kernel I used before.
So... anyone got this working? :)
Well... Maybe Mandrake 7.0 was a little rushed out... or maybe it's just me,
but many people seem to have problems with it.
I think MDK 6.1 worked like a charm... I'm sure 7.0 do to.. but it's the
little bugs that kills... less of those, and it would have been even better.
/* END OF RANT */
Thanks,
Rickard.
