Can you try updating /var/spool/lpd/lp/general.cfg with
    export ASCII_TO_PS=YES
instead of
    export ASCII_TO_PS=NO

And see if it change something, else it may be a problem with your SMB
configuration, check configuration file of Samba in that case.
