[expert] mandrake 7

when trying to load mandrake 7 onto my desktop computer, it is hard locking at the scsi detection...I downloaded the patch...did not work.  I have been able to get past that, but then it locks at x config. Any ideas?  I have FIC 503 mbd, AMD K-6 233, S3 Savage, monster 2, ensoniq pci (original),   in short, nothing special.    Any feedback would be appreciated.   Thanks
