Hi there all,
Forgive me if this is a trivial question... Im trying to get Mandrake
7.0 to work with SMP support... I have tried several different things to
get it to work and the Kernel panics... I get a message something to the
affect AIX7xxx was compiled for vmlinuz... linuz not for .... smp. This
is my SCSI card
I know that it is expecting to work with the UP kernel but what else do
I have to do... I simply set the vmlinuz link to the smp kernel and
re-ran lilo. What else to I have to do.. Ive even tried installing the
latest smp kernel from Mandrake Cooker... no luck....
Could someone also educate me on what is happening throughout several of
the steps mentioned in the HOWTOs and FAQs. I really dont want to
bother somone with restating whats in these but its unclear at least
from my perspective if I install binaries or the binaries are already
there, do I need to do a
make module_install
even if the kernel is already installed, even if the RPM has the *.o
files...
Any help is REALLY appreciated
Werner
