Maybe your monitor or graphics card is operated to near
to the hardware capability limits.

Change the entry for HorizRefresh in the XF86Config-file
to a lower maximum value (which should be similar to the 
value used in win$).

Play with xvidtune and change the hsync parameters,such
as polarity.
