Could you show us the output of the ifconfig and route programs
just after it "connects" ?
This is to check that the ppp0 interface is really up, and see
what it has connected to (what IP address, etc)...
If both outputs appear to be okay, what is the result
of pinging a known Internet address with _numerical_ address
and with _symbolic_ address ??
If the numeric works but not the symbolic, then you must
have a DNS problem.
Check and double-check that your DNS config in kppp is OK.
