I noticed the same. The problem is _not_ with the mouse, which you can
check: the mouse selection works perfectly in the console (or in vi)
and even with mc, the _pointer_ follows the mouse.
So the problem has to be somewhere in the mc version supplied with
Mandrake 7.0.
For the time being, I suggest you uninstall mc and re-install the
version
that was supplied with 6.1.
