Hey all
I've got a tricky problem here that I can't seem to find any
documentation for, so I was hoping someone would be able to help... I'm
using Mandrake 7.0 on a us laptop keyboard (Toshiba satellite pro) and I
can't get my backspace key to work as such and not as a delete key.
Here's the contents of some of my configs.
/etc/sysconfig/keyboard:
KEYTABLE=us-latin1
BACKSPACE=delete

The above works fine on console and in Eterm under X.

/etc/X11/XF86Config:
XkbKeycodes     "xfree86"
XkbTypes        "default"
XkbCompat       "default"
XkbSymbols      "us(pc101)"
XkbGeometry     "pc"
XkbRules        "xfree86"
XkbModel        "pc101"
XkbLayout       "us_intl"
XkbVariant      "nodeadkeys"

My keyboard works fine with this but the backspace key only works as a
delete key, deleting forwards instead of back in programs such as
Netscape and StarOffice. If I take out the Xkblayout "us_intl" then it
seems to work fine again, but I need to use us_intl to get accents to
work using a compose sequence.
I'd be grateful for any help or pointer towards any documentation as I'm
getting a bit frustated and I've got 12,000 words to type for Monday!
