You just don't have to worry about fragmentation with ext2.
The file sysssstem space allocation algorithm operates to minimise
fragmentation.
The final line of e2fsck will tell you the % of fragmentation, and
there is a defrag utility (that I have never managed to get to work).
So just forget about it! The technology has come a long way since
MS's ancient and ill-designed FAT file systems.
