Linux is not subject to the same FS fragmentation that Windows is.
AFAIU, this is because Linux lays files down INTELLIGENTLY -- and
defrags itself. What do you think is happening on the few occasions
when you've rebooted too many times (cleanly, mind) and it says
"/dev/<logical drive> has reached maximal mount count. Check Forced"?
This is similar to a Dos/Windows Scandisk/Defrag combo.
If you're worried, boot with a Tom's Boot/Root disk or RedHat 6.x
boot & rescue floppy combo and run e2fsck on the drive once in
awhile...
