Well . . . true. And if you really wanted to know exactally what it did, you
could look at the script file itself, but my point was that, unless you knew
what it meant (and had some understanding of networking), the word is too
general to be of any use. Perhaps the install program could (for
non-experts)  step through a series of pages describing the function of the
service and give the option of starting it at boot time. IMHO, Mandrake by
default enables too many unnecessary services and exposes the casual user to
some security risks, or at least some performance hits.
