Hi -

I have been running Mandrake for a while now and recently updated
to Air 7.0

My problem is that I have an old Packard Bell Platinum Pro XXI.
This machime came with a Cirrus Logic video chipset on the
motherboard and a generic sound card onboard the modem.
I recently upgraded the video to a 3dlabs permedia 2v card
and an Ensoniq AudioPCI soundcard.

I had a few difficulties configuring mandrake to use these
devices, but I finally got it.

The problem is this. Some applications send sound to both
soundcards. Therefore I sometimes get sound out twice.
Running Lothar in DrakConf, I see that Mandrake sees both video
and soundcards. Is there a way to get rid of these devices so
that Mandrake will not see them? I have already determined that
there is no jumper for the onboard video. PB documentation says
that the onboard video is automatically bypassed if a PCI video
card is inserted. I havent seen what to do about the soundcard.
In windows I am able to disable these hardware devices. Id like
to do something similar in Mandrake. Any suggestions?

Dave
