Ummm, you used "supermount" in your installation. Ths mounts the device
and checks frequently for media inserted to save you the trouble of
mounting and unmounting.
As root do
# supermount disable
and the problem should stop immediately.
You could also hack on /etc/fstab if that is your style and change the
floppy to a normal mount/unmount scheme while leaving the CD
supermounted.
