Unfortunately, I think you missed some of the thread and like many others
that tried to jump into this quorum you may have missed the point. The point
is that all three of the mandrake 7.0 -7.02 distributions hang when they try
to initialize the cdrom. This was never a problem with the older
distributions of MAndrake, in fact I'm running 6.1 now. It has nothing to do
with the cdburner because I've used the same cd-burner for every single
distribution I've ever installed. The point of this conversation is that at
one point in Mandrakes history the code was present for the installer to
recognize this cdrom, now it isn't. And to top it off Mandrake was aware but
has not bothered or is to busy to fix the problem. Lokk at their buglist and
see all the OUTSTANDING bugs listed there that still need to be corrected.
So the undelying issue here is that Mandrake needs to address some Quality
Assurance issues before they rush their product to market and maybe getting
labeled as unstable. In my opinion, 7.02 should still be labeled as BETA.
This argument has nothing to with Winblozes, that was only used as an
example.
Thanx,
SA
