Just as a FYI, have you *ever* even looked at, or
compiled a custom kernal?  If not, do so. (if
yes, forgive me, but this list has been full of
RTFM questions lately;)
Mandrakes stock included kernal sometimes sucks..., so grab
the latest kernal from http://www.kernal.org and
be happy! ;) (smp is a option while building
a kernal btw)
