It's obvious that you don't have much interest in switching back and forth from
console to X mode, otherwise you would NOT recommend the PT75 AOPEN card. Why?
Because it messes up the console when you start X and to get good CONSOLE video
back, you have to reboot.
Now, I know a lot of people probably couldn't care less. But think about it
this why -- you normally wouldn't have to reboot every time you shut down X, so
why get a buggy video card?
Now, I know that the folks from Xfree86 say they've fixed this bug, but why
bother, when for a little more you can get a Voodoo 3-2000 PCI?
