It has been my experience with the "lpd" service, loaded by default, that some
apps will print while other will not. This seems to be this case with some
versions of the linux OS's. You might want to consider "CUPS". As a print service,
it tends to support the entire platform. I have used it extensively on the Solaris
platform, and now use it in LM7.0. If you are interested, a site to look at is
"www.easysw.com". They do charge a small fee but I think it is well worth it.
Plus, you get a custom made driver for almost any printer. Hope this helps.
