I have exactly the same problem.  My internal Zip is recognized fine 
under Windows, but under Mandrake 7, nothing works.  My only solution was 
to unplug the zip.

Mandrake tech support has proven pretty incapable on this issue (I bought 
the power pack, so I am entitle to email tech support...).  If I get an 
answer, I'll post it to the list.
