Are you sure that you are using a _formatted_ CD-RW ???
(there is a "blank" option somewhere, isn't it)
Besides, I'm not sure at all that you _can_ put 640MB on a CD-RW media
I think I remember something about part of the media being reserved
_physically_ (indexes or such) so that the max available for data
is about 525 MB or so ...
