Well mine doesn't say device is busy, but it says it has no valid partitions to
install to I am using a promise controller that is built on my motherboard for
ata/66 support. I passed the necessary information to mandrake before install
started -- linux ide2=0xa400, blah blah for it to be able to find the promise
controller. I have found out that there is a bug with 7.1 install in this
paticular
situation. So if this is your situation, there is no fix for it that I am
aware of.
I installed 7.1 on another machine in my house which does not have an ata/66
controller and it installed fine. I will wait for a fix, I will not degrade my
system by going back to ata/33. Yeah I know the performance increase
is marginal, but if it was a .00001% increase in performance I would still
do it.
