Mandrake 7.1 has the rp-pppoe and pppoe-linuxconf packages, so it's easy
to configure. With some modems, you might want to set the timeout to 0 in
/etc/ppp/pppoe.conf, but with most providers it should work right out of
the box.

Tested with a Nortel modem with Sympatico (Canada) and an Alcatel modem
with France Telecom.
