A friend of mine who usually uses SuSE had some troubles with
downloading an ISO and trying to install 7.1. By the date of the
ISO, I would guess he got a beta ISO?

Anyone have some wisdom I can send to him to get him to get it to
install properly? I haven't run into this problem myself so I'm
kinda useless at the moment.

Thanks.

I'm using the school address as that is where I did the download. I got the
iso from ftp.twoguys.org. The date for their system is may 17th. It is the
i586 version.

The errors that I was getting was that it couldn't mount the drive. It would
format it, and then stop with an error that said something about couldn't
mount /mnt/boot. The only thing I could figure out is that it was creating
the directories before the install. Oh, and this was under 'expert' mode for
install. I had create partition in the following.

/boot 10meg ext2
/ 2985meg ReiserFS (approximate)
swap 128 meg.

Then I let it do the partitions. It split it up into 3 partition that were
something like
/ ext2
swap
/home ext2

The system is an Epox MB with 192meg, amd k6-2/400, WD 3.2gig drive,
advansys SCSI card with cd-writer and tape drive, IDE CD-rom 48x.

I'll try to do some more with it tonight. Perhaps try it in custom mode.
