hmm, does not seem to improve on speed.
however, there's a more quantitative,simple and quick measurement of
performance...run the xpilot game which will show at start how many
frames/sec.
i tested on a400mhtz, 8m ati pci, xf 3.3.5 and got 15frames/sec.
