[tr1@hwlinux tr1]$ passwd
Changing password for tr1
(current) UNIX password:
New UNIX password:
BAD PASSWORD: it is based on a dictionary word
New UNIX password:

New UNIX password:
BAD PASSWORD: it is based on a dictionary word
passwd: Authentication token manipulation error
[tr1@hwlinux tr1]$
[tr1@hwlinux tr1]$ su
Password:
[root@hwlinux tr1]# passwd tr1
Changing password for user tr1
New UNIX password:

Retype new UNIX password:
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully
[root@hwlinux tr1]#
Looks like as root, it acts as expected, i.e. warns but accepts.
As user, it warns but also doesn't accept.
I'm going to reload 7.1 and see if it's the same, but first I'll try setting
up some Samba passwords.
BTW, the password I was setting is "sunset1".
I may be able to survive on this but if anyone has any ideas to reduce the
complexity requirement overall, that would still be my preference.
